Montessori Board is an app for introduction of numbers and primary math concepts that are the fundamental building blocks for more advanced mathematical learning. Beautifully designed to mimic the physical materials used in Montessori classrooms, the app is ideal for the introduction of quantity, numeral and association for the numbers 1-10 and the introduction of simple addition. Developmentally appropriate for children just beginning to “count” (2-4 years old).

1) Ordering
By arranging and manipulating these spatial representations of quantities, the child learns to estimate, solve problems, make order from disorder (arrange in an orderly way), perceive differences and similarities in dimension and form, and gives the child experience with ratio and proportion.
3) Numbers
The child learns the numeral symbols one to ten, the name for each, and the correct order of the numbers.
5) Addition
By exploring various combinations of numbers, the child is given the experience of the operation and the language of addition. This provides practice in learning basic addition facts in preparation for abstract mathematics.
2) Counting
The child is given a concrete impression of the quantity of each number one through ten, the name for each, learns to count from one to ten, and is prepared for further mathematics.
4) Association
The child discovers the relationship between quantity and symbol, develops finer discrimination of symbolic representation of numerals as well as the sequence of the numbers one through ten.
